The special voters have started casting their ballots in the special voting exercise which started today Monday, December 2. The polls opened at 7 AM. 620 special voters will be participating in the Navrongo Central constituency process. The process began at exactly 7 AM at the municipal police headquarters where personnel of the state security agencies, workers of the Electoral Commission and members of the media are queuing to cast their vote.
Municipal director of the Electoral Commission Tetteh Okine said the process was so far fluid. About 131,478 voters will take part in the Special Voting, held in 14 regions. The Eastern and Western Regions are excluded from today’s exercise.
Jean Mensa, Chairperson of the Commission, explained that the exclusion of the Eastern and Western Regions was due to a defaced presidential ballot paper from the Eastern Region being leaked. As a result, the Commission recalled and reprinted the ballots for that region.
