A young businessman from Kumasi, Ashanti Region of Ghana has escaped a family curse and death threat, a shame and humiliation for his involvement in LGBTQ+ community in Ghana.
An amazing businessman has to run for his life after several threat from his own family and his community “Kumasi Ashanti New town” where he became a laughing stocks of the community and other forms of abuse.
Julius was forced to go into relationship with a lady who comes from a rich family. In order for his family not to suspect his sexual orientation. though he accepted the relationship with the lady and had one child with her though we not married; just to appear good in the face of the community and family. Meanwhile he was also having relationship with LGBTQ+ partner, something they suspect long ago which lead him pretentiously going into relationship with his arranged girlfriend. his girlfriend realized that Julius’s attention was often with the phone hence she tried and to know what keeps him on his phone for long.
She later got to know about his sexual relationship through the WhatsApp messages and videos he shared with his partner. She asked him about it and Julius confirmed to her; she informed her family concerning his membership of LGBTQ. The lady’s family threatened to Kill him because he has brought abomination to their family and vowed not to allow him marry their daughter. He knew what they can do because they are connected to some high profiled politicians. Eventually, the lady left him.
His mother upon hearing the incident with his girlfriend, she asked him to leave her house and told him not to come to the house anymore because of what she described as forbidden to the family and the society as a whole and can bring a generational curse to their children.
the issue became the talk of town and hence his life has never been the same, he does not have a family, society cut him off, no friends and can not simply buy food or anything in the market. He became depressed. He can not see his own daughter because he choose to express himself differently, he attempted killing himself.
The worst part of it all, is when a guy attacked him when he went out to shop for foodstuffs; to the extent of slapping him and called him with unprintable words and promise him that, his boys will hunt and kill him if he doesn’t repent from what he described as evil. With timely intervention by his partner and Rafidu Ibrahim helped him to relocated to a safe country where he can practice any lifestyle he choose.
For sometime now the community guys against LGBTQ+ have searching for him, all to no avail, the others believed he has been killed secretly while others too believing he is hiding somewhere, our withheld eye witness said it will be good if he does not return if he is alive. Timely intervention by his partner and Rafidu Ibrahim helped to relocated to a safe country where he can practice any lifestyle he choose.
