The coming days, the Minister for Works and Housing Kojo Oppong Nkrumah will be presenting the full housing reform package with the private sector at its core regarding the government’s plan to partner with private developers and banks to build cheaper high-rise buildings in Accra and Kumasi for residential purposes.
The Finance Minister Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam who announced this in the Mid-year budget presentation in Parliament on Tuesday, July 23 said this is to ease the burden of long commutes and mounting stress placed on the people due to the lack of decent and conveniently located housing.
Dr. Amin Adam said this is in partnership with Government, private developers and the Banks to ensure high-rise buildings are reasonably priced for accommodations within the cities of Accra and Kumasi.
