The Election Review Committee of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has commenced a series of meetings with stakeholders to undertake a comprehensive and inclusive review of the party’s performance in the 2024 general elections. The meetings aim to gather diverse perspectives, address challenges encountered during the elections, and develop strategies to enhance the party’s growth and success in future elections.
A statement issued on January 22, 2025, by the Secretary of the Committee, William Yamoah, disclosed that the first meeting was held on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, engaging TESCON leadership. The discussion focused on understanding the experiences of TESCON members during the 2024 elections, identifying areas for improvement, and formulating strategies to empower youth leaders within the party.
Mr Yamoah further revealed that a second meeting is scheduled for today, January 23, 2025, involving the Council of Elders. This session will draw on the extensive experience of the elders, providing critical insights and guidance to review the party’s decisions and processes during the elections. Additionally, a separate meeting will be held today with senior party officials who specialise in security and intelligence. This session aims to evaluate the party’s security strategies during the elections and propose enhancements for future campaigns.
