The Management of Marhaba Radio Station led by the CEO of the station paid a courtesy visit to a 110-year-old woman in Ghana.
Hajiya Salamatu who is popularly known as “Hajiya iyawo Kaabor” lives in the New Fadama neighborhood in the Accra metropolis.
Hajiya Iyawo Kaabor was born in Aburi, North Eastern part of Accra, Ghana.
Although a small town, Aburi is where the president’s villa is located.
The town of Aburi is a place with lots of history where the former President of Nigeria Yakubu Gowon first met Samuel Ojukwu.
As mentioned by Hajiya Iyawo Kaabor, her father was born in Katsina and he founded the Zongo community of the Hausas and the other Muslim tribes in Aburi town.
She is an elder sister to the late Alhaji Labaran, who happens to be among the few people that started broadcasting in the Hausa language more than 70 years ago in Ghana.
Hajiya Iyawo said that in her 110 years on earth, she came to the understanding that patience, endurance, peace, and strong family ties are the essence of life.
“I, therefore, call on the youths to have a forgiving heart and be exercise patience in whatever they are doing. This will make them go a long way in life”, she added.
