GIHOC Distilleries Company Limited has refuted recent media reports alleging that the Aboso Glass Factory in Tarkwa, Western Region, was sold for GH₵8 million. Kofi Jumah, Managing Director of GIHOC Distilleries, clarified that the company, which took over the factory in 2019, has no intention of selling the facility. Instead, he revealed that efforts are underway to revitalize the plant, with plans to restart operations by 2025. In an interview, Jumah emphasized GIHOC’s commitment to strengthening the factory’s infrastructure and operational capacity.
