The Ghana Institution of Engineering has stressed the importance of educating motorists on road traffic regulations as a key measure to reduce accidents. The institution believes that proper enforcement of these regulations depends on ensuring that drivers are fully aware of their responsibilities when behind the wheel.

This call follows a recent spate of road accidents in areas such as East Legon, the Accra-Kumasi Highway, and the Kumasi-Obuasi stretch. In an interview, the President of the Ghana Institution of Engineering, Ing. Kwabena Bempong, urged the Police to take proactive steps to enhance road safety. Ing. Bempong also cautioned motorists to be extra vigilant, especially with the upcoming general election and Christmas season.
