The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has reaffirmed its commitment to election security, stating that military personnel will not be stationed at polling stations and will provide only standby support, with the Ghana Police Service handling primary election security.
Military deployment will only occur at the request of the police to maintain order if necessary. GAF has urged the public to report anyone impersonating a military officer or wearing military-patterned attire at polling stations to the police or via the GPS toll-free numbers: 18555 or 0800 311 311.
The Armed Forces encouraged Ghanaians to exercise their civic responsibilities peacefully and cooperate with security personnel. It reiterated its commitment to safeguarding national stability and upholding the integrity of the election process.
