Finance Minister and Member of Parliament for Karaga Constituency in the Northern Region, Dr Mohammed Amin Adam, has made a pledge to set up a GHC500, 000 scholarship scheme for journalists in the Northern Region. According to him, journalists are not paid well, hence take to begging politicians for financial support to further their education.
He pledged a GHC500,000 cedis scholarship package for the GJA to be named, ‘Anta-GJA Scholarship for Journalists in the Northern Region.’ He urged media owners to pay journalists well. On the economy, the Minister underscored the achievements of government despite the economic situation it finds itself.
He called on the journalists to use their platforms in a professional manner to sustain the peace of the country before, during and after the 2024 general elections.
