The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has officially rolled out the 2025 DV plates nationwide, introducing a host of advanced security features aimed at combating fraud and ensuring the authenticity of vehicle registrations across Ghana. These newly designed plates, according to Julius Neequaye Kotey, the Acting Chief Executive of DVLA, represent a major advancement in vehicle registration and licensing processes, providing a more secure system for vehicle owners.
The 2025 DV plates are equipped with several cutting-edge security measures, including holograms, watermarks, and QR codes, all designed to prevent counterfeiting and protect vehicle owners from fraud. These enhancements are part of DVLA’s ongoing efforts to ensure the integrity of the vehicle registration system in Ghana. Vehicle owners, automobile dealers, and agents can now obtain the 2025 DV plates at all operational DVLA offices across the country.
In addition to the launch of the new plates, the DVLA has teamed up with the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service to clamp down on the illegal sale and use of counterfeit DV plates. A strict warning has been issued to those involved in the sale or use of fake plates, with authorities promising to pursue and prosecute anyone found violating the law.
