Brandon Thomas-Asante scored his first Championship goal for Coventry City yesterday as the Sky Blues secured a convincing 3-0 victory over Blackburn at the Coventry Building Society Arena. Thomas-Asante, who joined Coventry in the summer, struck in the 84th minute with a clinical right-footed finish from the center of the box to the bottom right corner, sending the home crowd into raptures.

The goal proved decisive, as Coventry secured their first win in their last five league matches. Thomas-Asante was eager to rediscover his form, having endured a barren spell of seven league games without scoring or providing an assist for his new club.

Despite already finding the net twice in the EFL Cup, including a strike against Tottenham Hotspur, Brandon Thomas-Asante was seeking his first Championship goal for the Sky Blues. The 25-year-old registered 11 league goals and two West Bromwich Albion assists in the previous Championship campaign.

Asante’s timely return to form, with two goals in four games for Coventry, will boost Otto Addo’s Ghana squad ahead of the crucial Sudan clashes.
