A recent poll by Data Insight Group of JOB Group Limited and Chartered Media Consult revealed that about 21.8% of voters regard the economy as the most pressing issue the nation is currently facing, with 75% of these voters rating the issue as very high or high. In a similar vein, with the high unemployment rate and youth unemployment hovering around 14.7%, it was not surprising that over 16 percent of voters regard unemployment as the second highest issue the nation is currently facing.
Even though the government does not directly employ people, it is crucial to address issues with employment and provide chances for long-term economic growth. Voters ranked healthcare as the fourth most important problem, unchanged from the previous poll, and education as the third most important concern. Voters continue to rank energy as their fifth most important concern.
Managing partner of Chartered Media Consult, Mr. Osei Boakye, stated that it is critical that voters have the opportunity to be politically aware and involved. He claimed that when political campaigns gained traction, voter participation began to become more competitive. Only 36% of voters, up 4.0 percentage points from the previous May poll, were expected to cast decisive ballots for the incumbent party in the presidential election.
While 12% of voters may choose to support the incumbent or another party for president, 52% of people will steadfastly support other parties. The survey confirmed earlier poll data forecasts that no single major political party would be able to win a simple majority in parliament with regard to parliamentary seats.
