The Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has announced a GH¢100,000 emergency rent fund to support victims of the Akosombo dam spillage to enable them access accommodation as residents continue to grapple with the impact of the disaster occasioned in October 2023. According to Ablakwa, the intervention seeks to ensure the total resettlement and compensation of all the over 12,000 victims of the dam spillage.
He made this known after filing his nomination to contest in the upcoming elections. He said for his next term, his priority will be the total resettlement and total compensation of all victims of the VRA spillage from the Akosumbo and Kpong Dams.
