The former President and the 2024 flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress(NDC),John Dramani Mahama was part of the prominent dignitaries who graced the final supplication(adua) of the late former Youth and Sports Minister and MP for Ayawaso North constituency, Hon.Alhaji,Dr.Muatapha Ahmed(Major RTD) at the National Mosque, Kanda in Accra on Sunday March 10th,2024 .
The affable and generous Dr.Muatapha Ahmed passed away couple of weeks ago in Indian and buried in Ghana at the Ghana Military Cemetery at Klagon,Accra.
The former President,John Dramani Mahama expressed his profound gratitude to all those who supported the bereaved family and the NDC to offer his bosom friend a befitting burial and supplications for Allah to bless him with the highest heaven,Jannat firdaus.
He eulogized Dr Mustapha Ahmed and praised him for his generosity and kindness to the people of his constituency and beyond.
According to the former President,the late Dr.Ahmed played a pivotal role in the construction of the national mosque especial regarding the landsize .
The NDC flagbearer for 2024 national elections promised to help in the building of a mosque in Kulungugu initiated and sponsored by the late Dr Mustapha Ahmed.He presented an undisclosed amount of money for the construction of the mosque.
The final adua was attended by traditional chiefs,from Accra,Ejisu,Ejura,Kumasi and Muslim traditional Chiefs across the country,Former IGP,Mr.Mohammed Alhassan ,current IGP, George Akuffo Dampare, the rest were, CPO Rtd Kofi Boakye, members of East Legon Executive Club led by Kwame Despite,school mates at the medical school,members of Parliament(past and current),Friends and loved ones.
In attendance were also some legal practitioners,High Court Judges,Appeal Court Judges and Supreme Court Judges including the funeral committee chairman, His Lordship, Justice Amadu Tanko,His Lordship,Justice Emmanuel Yonney Kulendi,Her Ladyship,Justice Avril Lovelace Johnson and former Chief Justice,
Her Ladyship Justice Georgina Theodora Wood.
The former President,John Dramani Mahama was supported at the successful event by the NDC party Chairman,Hon.Johnson Aseidu Nketia,General Secretary,Hon.Fifi Kwetey,Alhaji Mahama Iddrisu,Alhaji Hudu Yahya,regional party executives and party functionaries.
May Allah forgive all our departed souls and honour them with the gift of jannat firdaus.
