Marhaba 99.3 FM is the only exclusive Hausa broadcasting radio station in the capital city of Ghana. Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Officer with a focus on grant application to join our team. The ideal candidate has a passion for building strategic partnerships, securing funding, and driving business growth. A core aspect of this role will be to identify and apply for grants to support Marhaba’s social objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Partnerships: Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships to enhance reach and impact.
  • Revenue Generation: Develop and implement strategies to drive revenue growth through advertising sales, sponsorships, and other business opportunities.
  • Grant Application: Research, identify, and apply for relevant grants to secure funding for Marhaba projects and initiatives.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, advertisers, and sponsors to ensure long-term collaboration and satisfaction.
  • Market Research: Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and stay informed about industry trends and competitive landscape.
  • Proposal Development: Prepare compelling proposals and presentations to secure new business deals and funding opportunities.
  • Event Management: Plan, coordinate, and execute events that align with Marhaba FM’s brand and strategic objectives, ensuring successful and engaging experiences for participants.
  • Project Management: Oversee the implementation of business development projects and initiatives, ensuring timely and successful execution.
  • Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyze the performance of business development activities, providing regular reports and insights to senior management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in business development, sales, marketing, or a similar role, preferably in the media industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in grant writing and securing funding from various sources.
  • Ability to think strategically, adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment, and develop innovative solutions to business challenges.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and compellingly.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, generate insights, and make data-driven decisions.

Plus

  • Strong understanding of the Hausa culture, traditions, and market dynamics.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Hausa and English.
  • Experience in media, event management, and e-commerce is a plus.
  • Have networks in zongo or hausa speaking communities.
