A young man identified as Jordan Obeng is currently on the run after his alleged involvement in homosexual activities was exposed, sparking outrage in his community.

According to reports, Jordan, a native of Dansoman in Accra, had been living a double life, keeping his same-sex relationship hidden from family and friends for years. The situation took a dramatic turn in October 2023 when he was reportedly seen kissing his male partner at a restaurant by a member of is community. The news spread like wildfire, turning his life upside down.

Community members, particularly the youth, have expressed deep anger over the incident. Sources indicate that Jordan is now being hunted by groups of young men determined to teach him a bitter lesson for what they describe as a violation of Ghanaian cultural values and traditions.

The suspect has reportedly gone into hiding, moving from place to place in a desperate attempt to escape the wrath of the community. His whereabouts remain unknown, but the search for him continues.

This incident comes at a time when Ghana has taken a firm stance against LGBTQ+ activities. Parliament has passed the “Proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill,” which imposes severe penalties. Under this new legislation, anyone convicted of identifying as LGBTQ+ faces up to three years in prison. Additionally, the “willful promotion, sponsorship, or support of LGBTQ+ activities” carries a prison sentence of up to five years.

The youths searching for Jordan have made it clear they will not rest until they find him. However, their efforts may ultimately prove futile, as the law already provides for the prosecution and imprisonment of individuals involved in such acts. The culture of Ghana and the country as a whole remain firmly opposed to the practice, with many seeing it as alien to Ghanaian traditions and family values.

As the manhunt continues, Jordan remains in hiding, with his ultimate fate uncertain.
