Former president John Dramani Dramani in collaboration with NDC zongo caucus has over the weekend paid a surprise visit to 3 zongo communities in magnanimous approach to support the needy, PWD and the aged in the last 10 days of observing the Ramadan fasting.
The 3 beneficiary communities consist of Mamobi, Nima and Sabon zongo respectively, where the former president John Dramani Mahama brings the curtain down to the unannounced but important visit.
While in Chicago mosque in Mamobi where John Dramani Mahama distribute at least 300 enclosed items to the needy, PWD and the aged randomly in kind gesture as he seizes the occasion to admonish the gathering to remain resolute and assures them of his comeback.
At the forecourt of Masallacin Kado which is directly situated in the heart of Nima where the former president and his entourage rather employ the “Ceremonial Presentation” approach for the onward distribution of the items without stopping over to possibly cause vehicular traffic in the central business district.
John Dramani Mahama then proceeds to Ablekuma central Sabon zongo to be precise so as to replicate the magnanimous act demonstrated in Mamobi and Nima communities. To his surprise he received a warm welcome in an adorable manner. As happy man as John Dramani Mahama is he then thank the electrifying crowd for the honor done him after which he begins with the actual purpose for the gathering by distributing at least some 350 items in a wrapped manner presumably to be consumables.
In the end of his surprise visit across the 3 zongo communities this is his message to the gathering, “I greet you the good people of Ablekuma central it is obvious that we are in the month of Ramadan and according to the holy Qur’an in the last 10 days it is indeed, the ideal moment that Allah accepts our supplication. On the basis of this, we begun to pay a courtesy visit to his eminence the national chief Imam and again visit Hajj Umar leader of Ahlussun wa-jama’a. Today, we start to visit Mamobi through to Nima and here we are in Ablekuma central, it is an undeniable fact that during Ramadan fasting alms are expected to be given to the needy. As we all know in the last 10 days of Observing the Ramadan fasting there has been the likelihood that 1 significant day could mark the Night of Power, also known as (Lailatul kader). We therefore, should bear in mind that Ghana is facing economic setbacks hence, I entreat you all to remember Ghana in your prayers in the last 10 days of Ramadan.” he said.
