The sad end of Steven Agyeman a gay activist and his partner Fatawu attacked by a mob which lead to an untimely death of Steven and Fatawu managed to escape.

This is what the Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo stated recently that same-sex marriage will “never” be legalised while he is president. “No-one is asking for that. Right now queer people in Ghana are being attacked.

They’re asking for the freedom to live safely and without fear of this kind of violence.”

Sarah Adwoa Safo, Minister for Gender and Children, said: “The criminality of LGBT is non-negotiable and our cultural practices also frown on it.”

Steven’s family are known Christians while Fatawu’s are through and through Muslims in Ghana, and also the constitution of Ghana does not support the practice of LGBTQ activities though the law is yet to be passed but the people already are on the kneck of people who practice that act. On the back of both constitution and Religious bodies “Christianity, Islam and traditional: againsting the LGBTQ community In Ghana,

Late night tuesday, 1st January, 2019, Steven had visited Fatawu not knowing an already planned mob group to attack them which was lead by Fatawu’s uncle.

While in the room, they heard a strange knock on the door, immediately the door was opened, the mob group pounced on them. They beat them very well, unfortunately Steven sustained several injuries but Fatawu managed to escape, and eventually Steven died.

The family and the community guys are still looking for Fatawu who managed to escape.
