IN A a resounding show of confidence, Hon. Abdul-Ganiyu Ibrahim has been overwhelmingly endorsed as the second Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) since Ayawaso East Municipal Assembly was granted autonomy.

In the moment of local governance, Hon. Abdul-Ganiyu aka Mallam Fari has been confirmed 94% to the position of MCE to the admiration of the people from all the political divide.

His appointment follows a nomination by the President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, and marks a historic breakthrough in the Municipal’s leadership.

In the resounding endorsement, the confirmation vote saw an impressive turnout, with 16 out of 17 valid votes cast in favour of Abdul-Ganiyu – an overwhelming 94% endorsement.

A Vision for Progress:
In his acceptance speech, Mallam Fari expressed deep gratitude to President Mahama, the NDC leadership, traditional authorities, Assembly Members and her family. He pledged to lead with “determination, focus and confidence,” aiming to usher Ayawaso East Municipal Assembly into a new era of growth and opportunity.

Key Priorities:
As MCE, Abdul-Ganiyu Ibrahim alias Mallam Fari plans to:

● Champion development initiatives that directly benefit residents

● Realign local goals with the President’s and NDC’s broader vision for progress

● Foster collaboration with Assembly Members, chiefs, and stakeholders for smooth project implementation and continuity; especially sanitation and improving roads networks.

As the Assemblyman for the Video Land Electoral Area, Mallam Fari appealed for unity for the progress of the Municipality, since he cannot do it all alone.
